OOPS I keep forgetting this.

WOW!  I haven't been here since October??  Time really passes quickly!  There has been alot going on since then.
Let's see, I made a Winter Wallhanging for a client. (Same as the Autumn Wallhanging)

I love using the decorative stitches on my machine for attaching my bindings.  She loved this one too.

November brought some good & some bad..... we lost my Uncle Gene on November 15th....this was difficult. He was a wonderful Uncle and there just isn't enough good adjectives to describe him.

November also brought the 5th birthday of my Grandson.   He received a 'Cars' Nap-Time quilt from Grandma & Grandad, along with some movies. :)

Also, Thanksgiving!  On the Saturday after Thanksgiving Day, my brothers and all our families get together for dinner. There's 4 brothers + me and my family....we generally end up with 35-40 people for dinner. My sister-in-law makes the entire meal by herself. She's a wonderful cook and a great person all-around.

December.......  My youngest daughter (Veronica) graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania on the 15th. Am so Proud of Her!  She majored in Communications with a focus on the music industry.

Which brings us to Christmas! It took until Christmas Eve to get into the spirit. Which we also had a full house on Christmas Eve.  Was alot of fun. There was more visiting in the morning with my grandson & son-in-law....my poor daughter (Joanna) woke up with a migraine and spend the entire morning in bed sleeping it away.  She still has to come open her gifts.

and that takes us into the New Year. Hope everyone has a Wonderful 2013.

Catching Up :)

Gee, I'm not getting better at this blogging stuff. In August, I completed the John Deere Lap Quilt for my cousin.......he loved it. Here's pics.  :)

Also, after Labor Day Weekend, I was asked to make an Autumn Wallhanging. That is done & delivered. Some pics of it too. The last pic was sent to me after it was hung up in my friend's home.  She & her hubby both love it.

Hopefully, it won't take me another month before I get back to my blog.  We have alot going on right now.
Getting ready to move into a new home. One of my brother's is getting married. A couple more festivals to do.
The hardest situation that we are dealing with is that my Uncle Gene (79) had a massive stroke a week ago. He has no mobility of his right side. his speech is very, very slurred and garbled. However, I went to visit him in Pittsburgh at the Hospital on Saturday and it was a very nice visit. He was mentally aware of everything. I had taken my Nook with me because I can download all my FB pics to it, so I was able to show him recent pics of all my kids and grandkids and the quilts that I have made. He seemed to enjoy it.
We don't know how much longer that he will be with us, so I tried to make the very best of that visit for him, myself and my youngest daughter (she went with me to make sure Mom was ok on the 3 hour drive home and to thank him herself for all his support) .
So til next time.........happy even stitches. :D

Been Awhile

Well, has been a while since I've done anything on here. Summertime is always busy around our house. The festival back in June was a bust. :(   Kinda threw a curve at my creativity motivation. However, back on track now.

Currently am working on a John Deere lap quilt for my cousin's 50th birthday. Nothing eloborate, just keeping it simple.  Will posts pics when it's done.  Also, working on the first of two Disney Princess twin size quilts for the grandaughters in North Carolina. Shhh. they don't know about it. :)

Recently, we got the news that we are expecting 2 new grandchildren next spring. :D
Yep, more quilts to make :0)

Stressed

Well, the child (Veronica) did it again! (She had help from the hubby too) So now The Quilting Fold has a Facebook Page and I have to learn how to manage it.  On top of that, the festival is next weekend and I am nowhere near ready! Just not enough time to do everything that I want to do!!!
But the kid (Veronica) has been a big help, putting together my fabric selection booklet (just in case anyone wants to order a quilt) :)  Also, got a request for a memory quilt made from baby clothes....never attempted that, but I am going to learn!
Oh, Joanna has been making these cute necklaces that I am going to have at the festival too.  Will have to get some pics from her. Or wait til next weekend and just take the pics myself. LOL
Is there going to be any time for sleeping in the next 8 days????

Precisely Pink

Well, the Precisely Pink Baby Quilt is done.  Also, completed Boys Lined Up Baby Quilt.

Precisely Pink.....................

Boys Lined Up  .......... Normally, when I take pics indoors, my cats find a way to get in the pic, sooo I took this one outside. Needless to say, our dog, Pete, has been taking lessons from the cats...LOL

Got Pete off the quit, but he still wanted to be in the pic.  :)

Just loved the tools flannel backing

I guess my quilts need to be 'Pet Approved'  lol

Here's another Table Topper that has been completed this week. Burgundy is one of my fave colors.

Back to the Patriotic Series

Well, my original goal was to update this blog once a week. That has fallen by the wayside....lol. I started out rather well though. Anyway, at the moment I still have three WIP's going on. Here's one that I finished up this morning. This is another lap-size quilt for the Patriotic Series. I have another to quilt (soon as I figure out how to quilt it) and bind and then two more to make. After that will be the Pets Duo and I will be up to date on the lap-size quilts. However, I have a Precisely Pink baby quilt on the machine in the midst of stippling and the top for another Table Topper waiting to be sandwiched, stippled and bind. At least I know what's on my to-do list.
So here's today's completion.....

American Freedom

and a 'Preview' of Sparklers

This is all glittery fabrics. Which looks really neat, but is a pain to get off the cutting mat and ironing board. Hee hee...wait til my hubby goes to iron his shirt....lol
The best suggestion I read about was to use a lint roller. :)  Works pretty well too.
Anyway, I haven't tried stippling this size yet, so this may be my first attempt at it. Usually, with the lap quilts I just stitch-in-the-ditch. You know, play it safe. However, I really, really like the way this quilt is coming along and am probably going to stipple it. :)   Wish me luck!

Cars, Cars, Cars

A busy weekend, of course it's Monday and has been raining off n on. LOL  Although, we have a big storm coming in this evening. However, I did find some 'dry time' to get some pics outside.  Completed 2 more car quilts (Throw size or across the Car size).

Who says car shows are just for men?
Had to make this one kinda girly!

I really love the paisley on it!

Absolutely thrilled with how this one turned out.
 Kinda EYE-POPPING wouldn't you say?

Not a big fan of orange & black, but really liked the polka-dots!

So that's my endeavors for this weekend.   :o)

I have two more Car Themed fabrics to work with.  So it's back to the studio! :o)

Table Toppers.....Round 1

I have space reserved for a booth at a Festival in June. Making some Table Toppers to sell. I still need to do some Christmas ones and a few more in other colors. Then I can get back to the Car Series and the Americana Series.  :)  Here's the first group........

Busy Busy

I've been busy cutting, piecing and working on my Free Motion Quilting. I'm getting better at it......I think..?
Here's what has been accomplished this week......

I loved the way this lil Boy Baby Quilt turned out. This is such an easy block to make....
There are 12 blocks in the body of the quilt. The center rectangle is cut at 6 1/2" X 10" and the two blue rectangles are cut at 31/2" x 10". A blue rectangle on each side of the center rectangle. Two seams to sew and the block is done. I got the block pattern from a tutorial by Quilting in the Rain. She has such fun ideas!
I may do this block again in pinks!  Just not today..........lol

A 22" square Table Topper
This one can be completed in a few hours. It's just 2 1/2" strips.
I made it yesterday...start to finish. (4.20.12)

This one is 15 X 37 1/2 Table Topper. As you can see, it is reversible. :)
I started the blocks for this on Friday (4.19.12), but then couldn't figure out how to quilt it without taking away from the block design. This morning I just decided to stitch a bunch of small loops on the white areas. Some stitch-in-the-Ditch along the white border and  ..............  Waaa-LA!  It's done. :o)

Sweethearts Baby Quilt

Have been back at home for a few days now. It took the first couple of days to get back into our routine. Yesterday, I finally got into the frame of mind to get back to quilting. So I finished a project that was started before we went to KY. Here it is..........Sweethearts!

Brad

Well, it has been some very trying last 10 days or so. On March 30th, my hubby received a phone call from Frankfort, KY that his older brother, Brad, 71, was gravely ill. After staying in contact with the VA Hospital in Lexington, KY and friends of Brad's and wrapping up some business here at home (Cleveland, OH) we traveled to Frankfort on April 5th. Arriving in the late afternoon, we went directly to the VA Med Ctr in Lexington. We were pleased to see that Brad was able to communicate with us, mostly through writing because of the oxygen equipment. The two brothers cleared the air on some issues. It was wonderful to see that Brad still had a sense of humor about him, all while knowing that his body was failing. On Friday the 6th, after we left to get some lunch Brad requested his doctor and made the very Brave decision that he did not want the option of any machines, respirators, ventilators or other life-saving devices. When we returned to the Hospital, we found that Brad had been moved to the 'Comfort Care' floor and spent a couple of late hours with his brother. After conferring with the staff that there was no definite idea of how long Brad would continue to hang on, my hubby & I decided to return to Ohio on Saturday. We spent some time with Brad Saturday morning and told him that we were heading back home and that we would return. Brad smiled and waved us off. So, we got on the highway and headed north, traveling for about an hour and a half when the Hospital called. Brad waited until we were far enough away that we would not have to watch his final moments. We firmly believe that Brad did not want his little brother to see him fade, did not want his little brother to have to remember that moment.
Saturday afternoon, April 7th, Brad passed away with his pride, his dignity and being a protective Big Brother.
Because we lived in different states, I didn't know Brad all that well, but I will never forget him blowing me kisses as we were leaving from one of our visits.
On Tuesday, the 10th, we had his service and sent him off to Sinatra's 'My Way'.
Brad was a respected attorney, loved his classic Porsche, his gardening, reading two novels per week and up til about 10 years ago had his pilot's license for small aircraft. He was still Best Friends with his College Frat Brother, Witt, and they began their passion for flying during their years at Ohio University (Athens,OH).
Next week we will be shipping Brad's ashes to Witt, where Witt (also 71) will be piloting Brad's last flight and distributing his ashes over their favorite private airport.
Fly free, fly strong and may your next three-point landing be in the comfort of God's hands.
